This sunscreen contains several ingredients from the concern blacklist. Homosalate and Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (Avobenzone) are chemical UV filters. Homosalate has raised concerns regarding potential hormone disruption and skin penetration, while Avobenzone, though effective, can be unstable when exposed to light unless adequately stabilized. Additionally, the formula includes Hydroxybenzoates, a class of preservatives commonly known as parabens, which have been linked to endocrine disruption and allergic reactions in some individuals. Phenoxyethanol and Benzyl Alcohol are also present as preservatives.The product does not contain any ingredients from our whitelist of beneficial ingredients like Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide, which are mineral UV filters often preferred for sensitive skin. However, it does provide robust broad-spectrum protection with SPF50+, offering very high defense against both UVA and UVB rays. Other active ingredients include Octocrylene and Octyl Salicylate, which are also chemical UV filters that contribute to the product's high SPF and water resistance, providing comprehensive sun protection suitable for harsh conditions.
